In the ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN Huck lives with the Widow Douglas, she took him in so she could civilize him. Every night after dinner she reads to Huck about moses and the Bulrushers. But then she let Huck know he's been dead for many years and then he didn't care about him anymore. One night when he was laying in bed he felt lonely and then a spider came climbing up his shoulder and he flicked it off and it landed in the lit candle and he knows that is awful bad luck. Huck snuck out with Tom Sawyer and Huck tripped over a root and the nigger Jim heard him.
